Leonard Mark Lewis

Leonard Mark Lewis is a Professor of Music at Winthrop University's Conservatory of Music within the College of Visual and Performing Arts. Born in England and raised in Texas, he specializes in new music composition and piano performance. His works include vocal compositions, chamber operas, and concerti performed globally by ensembles like the Charlotte Symphony and American Composer’s Orchestra.

Research interests focus on music composition, piano performance, and music theory. Awarded honors include ASCAP, BMI, Columbia University's Bearns Prize, and Voices of Change. His compositions have been featured at Carnegie Hall and internationally.
