Leon Shterengas is an Associate Professor and Interim Department Chair in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Stony Brook University. His research focuses on high-power and high-speed light emitters, carrier dynamics in nanostructures, and molecular beam epitaxy. He leads the Optoelectronics Group, advancing innovations in mid-infrared lasers and quantum well structures.
Teaching Responsibilities include courses such as ESE-211 Electronic Laboratory A, ESE-231 Introduction to Semiconductor Devices, and ESE-514 MOS Transistor Modeling. His work spans semiconductor laser design, photonic crystal engineering, and quantum photonics applications.
