Lenny Papertalk is a Lecturer at the School of Allied Health, University of Western Australia (UWA), affiliated with the Western Australian Centre for Rural Health (WACRH). Her research focuses on improving healthcare outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, particularly in areas of brain injury, rural health services, and allied health education. She actively contributes to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), emphasizing Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and Goal 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions).
Her work integrates intersectionality frameworks to address systemic barriers faced by Indigenous populations with acquired brain injuries. Notable projects include developing culturally appropriate arthritis educational resources and evaluating rural allied health student experiences. She has been recognized with the Vice-Chancellor's Indigenous-led Research Award (2024).
Papertalk collaborates on interdisciplinary initiatives such as the Talk, Think, Act project (2019–2020), aiming to improve Aboriginal cancer outcomes through practice change. Her research spans clinical practice guidelines, rural healthcare delivery, and community-based violence prevention programs in remote areas.
