Lenneke Vaandrager

Dr. Lenneke Vaandrager is Associate Professor in Health and Society at Wageningen University, where she also serves as Scientific Director of the Centre for Space, Place and Society. Her sociological research examines healthy living environments through participatory approaches.

Research focuses on salutogenic mechanisms in nature-based work, green citizen initiatives, and addressing health inequalities in vulnerable neighborhoods. She coordinates the European Training Consortium in Public Health and Health Promotion, organizing multinational training programs.

Current projects include GLOW (Green Living Environments for Wellbeing), nature-based vocational rehabilitation, and urban agriculture initiatives, all emphasizing co-creation with communities.
