Prof. Leng Tse-Kang is a Research Fellow at the Institute of Political Science of Academia Sinica and concurrently holds a Professorship at National Chengchi University's Political Science Department in Taipei. He earned his Ph.D. in Government and Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia (1995). Previously, he served as Chair of National Chengchi University's Political Science Department and held roles such as Section Chief of the R&D Office and Research Fellow at the Institute of International Relations there.
His research focuses on international relations theory, cross-Straits political dynamics, globalization's political economy, and urban development in China. Notable works include analyses of China's centrally administered municipalities as development engines (2010), local governance dynamics during China's reform era (2010), and biodiversity governance comparisons between China and Taiwan (2006). His research also appears in journals like The China Journal and Asian Survey.
Prof. Leng has held visiting positions at Leiden University's Modern East Asian Research Center and Stanford's Hoover Institution. He served as Secretary General of the Chinese Association of Political Science (CAPS Taipei). His work bridges theoretical international relations frameworks with applied studies on China's domestic and cross-strait political-economy challenges.
