Lena Jur is a Research Associate in the Collaborative Research Centre (CRC) 138 'Dynamics of Security' at Philipps-Universität Marburg, specifically in Subproject C08 focusing on Security and Empire. She has held roles including Research Assistant in the CRC since 2018 and served as an honorary assistant at the Chair of Modern History (19th/20th century) under Prof. Benedikt Stuchtey. Her work integrates historical research with educational initiatives, such as co-developing a teacher training course on decolonization in history education.
She completed her studies in History and English at Philipps-Universität Marburg (2010–2017), followed by a PhD project titled 'Die britischen Child Migration Schemes im imperialen Kontext' (working title), examining British child migration programs within an imperial framework. Her research interests span imperial and colonial dynamics, migration history, and the application of historical scholarship in educational contexts.
Lena has collaborated with institutions like the Herder Institute for Historical Research on East Central Europe (as a student assistant, 2015–2016) and co-operated with scholars such as Matthias Bode and Fiona Mager on educational projects.
