Leiyu Shi is a Professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. He is affiliated with the Johns Hopkins Primary Care Policy Center and the Johns Hopkins Asia-Pacific Center for Hospital Management and Leadership Research, focusing on improving integrated and efficient care delivery models to enhance population health and equity.

Dr. Shi's research centers on primary care, health disparities, and vulnerable populations. His work investigates the role of primary care in mitigating the adverse effects of income inequality on health outcomes and examines the sustainability, financial performance, and quality of care in community health centers serving vulnerable populations. He also explores access to care and health equity in both U.S. and international contexts, particularly in China.
His recent publications reflect a strong focus on public health policy in China, including telehealth applications, childhood trauma, HIV treatment outcomes, and health system reforms. These works demonstrate a consistent commitment to evidence-based policy development and health equity.
