Leigh Ellen Walsh is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at the Telfer School of Management, University of Ottawa. She holds a PhD from York University’s Schulich School of Business, a dual Master’s in Public Administration from the London School of Economics and Paris Institute of Political Studies, and is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA,CA) with nearly a decade of practical experience in Canada and abroad.

Research Focus: Her work investigates accounting and financial communication practices in the public sector, emphasizing open government and open data initiatives. Current projects analyze quality assurance in public sector financial reporting and policy implementation in government transfers.
Teaching Expertise: She teaches financial and managerial accounting courses and has delivered international accounting training to organizations such as the European Commission and NATO.
Funded Research: Principal Investigator for a 2018–2021 Telfer School of Management Start-Up Fund project focused on public sector accounting.
