Dr. Lefteris Kretsos is a Senior Lecturer in Business and Management at Brunel Business School, Brunel University London. Prior to his current position, he held academic roles at University of Greenwich, Coventry University, and Robert Gordon University. His distinguished career also includes significant policy-making experience, having served as Cabinet Minister and General Secretary for Digital and Media Policy in Greece from 2015 to 2019. He currently serves as the Programme Leader for the PhD Programme with Ahlia University in Bahrain.
Dr. Kretsos' educational background includes BSc, MA, and PhD qualifications, along with Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). His professional journey spans academia, government, and international organizations, reflecting a unique blend of theoretical and practical expertise in labor relations and policy development.
Dr. Kretsos' research focuses on precarious work, particularly among young and cultural workers, and examines the intersection of political economy and employment relations. His current work investigates how AI, public policy, and management interventions shape work outcomes and strategies. His research has been published in leading journals including Work, Employment and Society, Work and Occupations, Industrial Relations Journal, and Industrial Law Journal. He has secured research funding from prestigious organizations such as the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and the European Research Council (ERC).
His research portfolio demonstrates consistent engagement with contemporary labor market challenges, particularly the impact of digital transformation on work organization and employment relations. Recent publications increasingly focus on AI's implications for work and labor relations, reflecting his commitment to addressing emerging challenges in the future of work.

Dr. Kretsos has made significant contributions to policy development at national and international levels. During his tenure in the Greek government (2015-2019), he initiated restructuring of public policy organizations and championed policies to make Greece a global film-friendly location. His policy expertise extends to organizations including the European Commission, ILO, OECD, and UNESCO. He also serves on editorial boards for prominent journals including Work, Employment and Society.
Dr. Kretsos teaches Research Methods in Business and Management, International Human Resource Management for undergraduate students, and Leading People and Managing Organizations for MBA students. His extensive executive education experience includes programs for organizations such as Total Oil Group, General Electric, and various trade unions across Europe.
