Leeah Javier

Leeah Javier, DNP, RN, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Nursing at the School of Nursing, Hawaii Pacific University (HPU), where she has been a full-time faculty member since 2019. She previously served as an adjunct faculty at HPU, teaching core nursing courses including community health nursing, health assessment, and nursing fundamentals.

Her educational background includes a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from the University of Hawaii (2019) and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of Hawaii – Hilo (2014).

Dr. Javier's research and scholarship interests span Community Health Nursing, Mental Health, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), Professionalism, and Finance and Entrepreneurship in Nursing. She is also actively involved in student leadership through advisement of the Student Nurses Association (SNA) and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.

Her teaching expertise includes gerontology, pharmacology, and nursing fundamentals, with a clinical focus on long-term care and infection prevention, particularly catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTI), as reflected in her DNP dissertation.

Dr. Javier brings over nine years of clinical experience from Wahiawa General Hospital, where she served as Charge Nurse and Clinical Educator, enriching her academic practice with real-world insights.
