Lee Raby is Associate Professor of Developmental Psychology at the University of Utah, directing the Early Experiences Lab. His research investigates early caregiving’s lifelong impacts on neurobiological and socioemotional development, using adoption studies, physiological markers (cortisol, RSA), and longitudinal designs. Current NSF-funded projects examine prenatal stress transmission and attachment in internationally adopted children.
He mentors graduate students in studies of emotion regulation, trauma timing effects, and biobehavioral synchrony. Raby’s work appears in Development and Psychopathology and Psychoneuroendocrinology, with 50+ publications on early adversity.
