Lee Miles

Lee Miles is a Research Fellow at the School of Biological Sciences, Monash University. His research focuses on molecular mechanisms underlying muscle diseases and genetic disorders, employing CRISPR-Cas9 technology and zebrafish models. He leads and collaborates on projects investigating muscular dystrophy, sarcomere dysfunction, and metabolic disorders.

• Current Projects: Functional evaluation of UBA5 variants (2025–2027) and Testing of a VUS in distal myopathy (2024–2026).
• Key Research Areas: Muscle homeostasis, CRISPR-based mutagenesis, proteostasis networks, and genetic variants in muscle diseases.
