Leapetswe Malete is an Associate Professor and Coordinator of Global Initiatives in the Department of Kinesiology at Michigan State University (Ph.D., MSU). His research focuses on youth psychosocial development through sport and physical activity, self-efficacy in athletics, and the role of nutrition in youth health outcomes, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa and underserved U.S. populations. He leads projects on positive youth development in Botswana, Ghana, Tanzania, and the Lansing area. As an international education leader, he advises national teams and federations in Botswana.

Research Interests:
Explores cross-cultural applications of sport psychology, the impact of physical activity on health disparities, and the design of community-based interventions in resource-limited settings. His work integrates global health perspectives with sport-based development programs to address youth resilience and entrepreneurship.
