Leah Stewart is a Professor and Department Head at the University of Cincinnati, where she has held roles including Director of Creative Writing and Associate Professor. She holds an MFA from the University of Michigan and a BA in English from Vanderbilt University. Her research and creative work focus on narrative techniques, contemporary fiction, and literary arts, with a particular emphasis on themes of identity, family dynamics, and psychological realism. Stewart has been honored with prestigious awards such as the National Endowment for the Arts Literature Fellowship and the Sir Walter Raleigh Award for Fiction.
Her creative output spans novels, short stories, and literary criticism, including works like What You Don’t Know About Charlie Outlaw and The New Neighbor. She has also contributed reviews to outlets like the News and Observer. Stewart actively participates in literary festivals and educational initiatives, including the Sewanee Writers’ Conference and the University of Cincinnati’s MFA program.
