Dr. Leah McCabe is a Lecturer in British Politics at the School of Social and Political Science, University of Edinburgh. She specializes in British politics, public policy, gender politics, and social movements, with a focus on contentious politics in the UK. Her research examines policy framing, institutional governance, and constitutional change, particularly in cases of gender-based violence and abortion politics.

Research Interests:
Leah's work bridges feminist institutionalism, intersectionality, and multi-level governance. She investigates how devolution and constitutional shifts influence policy contestations and social movement strategies. Her current project, funded by the Leverhulme Trust, analyzes abortion politics across the UK, exploring legislative debates and pro-choice/pro-life advocacy strategies. Past research includes a groundbreaking thesis on domestic abuse policy in post-devolution Scotland, which won major academic awards.
