Leah Kirchhoff is a Researcher affiliated with the Department of Ecology, Environment and Geoscience at Umeå University. Her work focuses on the interconnectedness of above- and belowground biological processes in Arctic ecosystems, particularly under warming conditions, and how these interactions shape global climate feedback mechanisms.
Research Interests: Leah investigates microbial community dynamics in sub-arctic tundra and methodological approaches to minimize biases in plant removal experiments. Her studies bridge plant-soil interactions, tundra ecosystem functions, and ecological responses to environmental stressors.
Recent Publications: Her 2024 articles include microbial community analysis in fungal ecology and experimental bias control in plant removal studies. Collaborators include Konstantin Gavazov, Gesche Blume-Werry, and Sylvain Monteux.
Leah Kirchhoff is based at the CIRC, Abisko Naturvetenskapliga Station and can be contacted via email leah.kirchhoff@umu.se.
