Elin Kindstedt is an Assistant Professor and resident dentist at the Department of Odontology, Umeå University. She is affiliated with the School of Dentistry and conducts research on periodontal diseases, focusing on the interplay between oral infections, immune responses, and systemic health. Her work integrates molecular immunology and clinical dentistry to understand pathogenic mechanisms in periodontitis.
Her research emphasizes the role of microbial enzymes (gingipains) and host immune factors in disease progression. Key projects include the PerioGene North study, investigating genetic and immunological factors in severe periodontitis.
Dr. Kindstedt's clinical and academic activities are based at Norrlands University Hospital (locations 1D, 5A, and 20D buildings). She contributes to dental education and clinical practice while advancing translational research in oral immunology.
