Dr. Leah Hibbs is a Lecturer in the School of Social Sciences at Cardiff University, specializing in gender studies, political representation, and feminist institutional analysis. Her research focuses on women's experiences in Welsh local government, exploring gendered barriers to political participation, institutional sexism, and the transformative potential of women's leadership. She employs qualitative methods to examine how gender shapes civic institutions and political practices.
Dr. Hibbs holds a PhD from Cardiff University, where her thesis analyzed the gendered dynamics of Welsh local councils. Her recent publications include studies on remote political participation during the pandemic and the role of NGOs in empowering women's civic engagement. She teaches modules on social policy, gender relations, and political participation at the undergraduate level.
