Le Roy Barley is a Jazz Trumpet Applied Instructor at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and an Adjunct Instructor of High Brass at Shaw University. He also serves as Jazz Director at Green Hope High School, Green Level High School, and Creators Christian Homeschool Bands, and as High School Band Director at North Raleigh Christian Academy. Additionally, he has held teaching roles at Duke University (Lecturer and Director of Jazz Combos), North Carolina Central University (Adjunct Instructor of Trumpet), and various other institutions.

Mr. Barley’s teaching philosophy emphasizes universal exposure to music, adapting to students’ learning styles and levels, and fostering discipline and problem-solving skills through high-level musical engagement.
