Layne Mauldin is a Lecturer in the Department of Performing Arts at Clemson University's College of Arts and Humanities. She also serves as Director of Percussion at Legacy Early College Elementary School in Greenville, SC, and teaches at DRUM Percussion Studio.

Her research interests span percussion, music composition, world percussion, and music education. She actively composes pieces for her percussion ensemble and collaborates with string and choir directors to provide students with multidisciplinary performance experiences. Her work integrates global percussion traditions into elementary education curricula.
Layne received her Bachelor of Arts from Clemson University (2012) and Master of Music from Ohio State University (2014). She studied under notable percussionists including Susan Powell and Mark Spede. As a performer, she co-founded Catch 22 Duo and works as a freelance percussionist. She serves as Communications Officer for the Percussive Arts Society's South Carolina chapter and is endorsed by Artifact Percussion.
