Layla Branicki is a Professor of Management Strategy & Organisation at the University of Bath, affiliated with the Centre for Business, Organisations and Society (CBOS). She holds roles as an Associate Editor for Group & Organization Management and has served as a grant peer-reviewer for organizations like the ESRC and AHRC. Her research focuses on resilience and responsible crisis management in high-risk environments, including employee health challenges, pandemic responses, and climate change. She has a PhD in Public Management from the University of Warwick (2008) and an MA in Legal and Political Theory from University College London (2001).
Her work spans qualitative methodologies and interdisciplinary collaborations, addressing themes like employer responsibilities post-cancer diagnoses, CEO activism, and pandemic impacts on business roles. She has published in journals such as Academy of Management Discoveries and Journal of Business Ethics.
Branicki has led or contributed to major projects including the People-Led Digitalisation initiative (2021–2025) and the Flood Recovery and Resilience study (2014–2016). Her awards include the Best Paper Prize at ANZAM 2021 and the Best Practice-Orientated Paper Award at the 2020 Academy of Management Annual Meeting.
Teaching interests include strategy, organizational management, and research methods, supported by certifications like Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She actively supervises doctoral students in her research areas.
