Friederike Döbbe is an Assistant Professor in Management Marketing, Business & Society at the University of Bath, affiliated with the Centre for Business, Organisations and Society (CBOS). She holds a PhD in Business Administration (Management & Organisation) from the Stockholm School of Economics.
Research Interests: Her work focuses on socio-ecological issues, particularly climate change and sustainable food systems. She explores the politics of responsibilization, examining how responsibility for addressing ecological and social challenges is constructed, shifted, and contested through qualitative methodologies. Her research contexts include the United Nations, multi-stakeholder processes, and business-consumer interactions, with an emphasis on marketing campaigns and discourse analysis.
Awards: She was awarded the prestigious Oskar Sillén Prize in 2024.
Editorial Role: She serves as an Associate Editor for the journal Ephemera: Theory & Politics in Organization since April 2025.
Labs/Teams: Her research is conducted within the CBOS centre, which focuses on interdisciplinary studies of business and societal challenges.
