معرفی
Lawrence H. Young, MD is a Professor of Medicine (Cardiology) and Cellular & Molecular Physiology at Yale School of Medicine. He specializes in cardiovascular medicine with expertise in myocardial ischemia, diabetes-related heart disease, and AMPK signaling pathways. His research focuses on metabolic adaptations to hypoxia and cardioprotective mechanisms. Dr. Young holds appointments in multiple departments including Diabetes Research Center and Vascular Biology Program. He has been honored as a Best Doctor in America (Cardiology) for over two decades and is an elected member of the Association of American Physicians.
Education: MD from Yale University (1980), residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital (1983), fellowship at Yale SOM (1986). Research interests include AMPK's role in glucose metabolism, cardiac survival pathways, and diabetic cardiomyopathy. He leads a lab studying metabolic stress in heart failure and collaborates on translational projects like SGLT2 inhibition studies. Over 160 peer-reviewed publications span molecular mechanisms to clinical case reports. Key awards include Fellowships from the American Heart Association and American College of Cardiology.
