معرفی
Lawrence F. Brass is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine, with secondary appointments in Pharmacology. He leads research in platelet biology, thrombosis, and hemostasis, focusing on the molecular mechanisms of platelet activation and thrombus formation.
- Harvard College (A.B., Chemistry, 1970)
- Case Western Reserve University (Ph.D., Biochemistry, 1975; M.D., 1977)
Research Interests: His work combines experimental and computational approaches to study platelet signaling networks, thrombus architecture, and the role of molecular transport in clot formation. Key areas include systems biology, proteomics, and transgenic mouse models.
Scientific Awards: Recipient of the
- Distinguished Career Award (International Society of Hemostasis and Thrombosis)
- Christian R. and Mary F. Lindback Award for Distinguished Teaching (University of Pennsylvania)
- Established Investigator status (American Heart Association)
Labs & Collaborations: Co-leads a lab with Dr. Timothy Stalker, collaborating with Penn’s School of Engineering and Departments of Pediatrics and Pharmacology. The lab employs intravital microscopy, microfluidics, and in silico modeling to investigate hemostasis.
