Laurie R. Weingart is the Richard M. and Margaret S. Cyert Professor of Organizational Behavior and Theory at Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business. She currently serves as Interim Associate Dean for Masters Programs and co-leads the Collaboration and Conflict Research Lab. She previously held roles such as Chair of the Faculty Senate, Interim Provost/Chief Academic Officer, and Senior Associate Dean of Education. Her research focuses on collaboration, conflict, and negotiation, emphasizing how diversity impacts problem-solving and innovation. She has authored over 70 publications and co-authored The No Club: Putting a Stop to Women’s Dead-End Work, addressing systemic gender inequities. Weingart is a Fellow of the Academy of Management and recipient of the Joseph E. McGrath Award for Lifetime Achievement.
Education: Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior (Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University), MS in Organizational Behavior (Northwestern), BS in Industrial/Organizational Psychology (University of Illinois at Chicago).
Research Interests: Collaboration dynamics, conflict management, negotiation strategies, gender equity in the workplace, interdisciplinary team performance. Her work bridges organizational behavior, psychology, and economics.
Awards include the IACM Best Book Award (2024), Conflict Management Division’s Best Paper Awards, and recognition for contributions to group research. She has advised on policy and served leadership roles in professional associations like the International Association for Conflict Management.
