Laurie Myers

Laurie Myers is a Lecturer in Art at the Missouri University of Science & Technology (since 2012), where she teaches within the Department of Arts, Languages & Philosophy. Prior to this, she held roles as an Educator in Art and Journalism at Rolla Public Schools (1992–2023) and Licking Public Schools (1988–1992). She holds a Master of Arts from the University of Florida’s College of Fine Arts (2013), with a capstone study on Design Thinking as Collaborative Learning in Education.

Her research interests focus on innovative pedagogical strategies in art education, including design thinking and student behavior analysis through collaborative frameworks. She emphasizes feminist pedagogy and has been recognized for her contributions to inclusive education practices.

Laurie has received numerous accolades, including the National Art Education Women’s Caucus Feminist Pedagogy Award (2015) and multiple recognitions as an influential teacher. Her career spans over three decades, combining university and K–12 education with a commitment to community engagement through the arts.
