Dr. Laurie Mauger serves as an Assistant Professor in the Biology Department at Delaware Valley University, dedicated to creating challenging, inclusive undergraduate educational experiences that foster intellectual growth and real-world application of biological concepts.
Education:
- Ph.D. from Drexel University (2010) under Dr. James Spotila; dissertation focused on ecology, population genetics, and conservation of American crocodiles (Crocodylus acutus) in Costa Rica
Research Focus: Her work bridges conservation biology and pedagogy, specializing in reptile ecology while developing innovative teaching methodologies that connect complex biological principles to everyday contexts through real-world scenarios.
Professional Contributions: Recently served as curriculum developer and project manager for USAID's STEM Teacher Education and School Strengthening Activity (STESSA), designing student-centered curricula for STEM teacher preparation at five Egyptian universities.
