Laurie Doyle is the Helen DeVitt Jones Endowed Chair of Fine Arts and Professor of Fine Arts at Lubbock Christian University (LCU). She has been affiliated with LCU since 1983, serving in roles such as Director of Student Activities, Associate Professor, and Chair of the Communication and Fine Arts Department since 2006. Her academic background includes a Ph.D. in Fine Arts/Theatre (Texas Tech University, 2002), a Master of Music in Vocal Performance (Texas Tech, 1985), and a Bachelor of Arts in Music (Lubbock Christian University, 1982).
Dr. Doyle has directed over 40 plays and musicals, emphasizing theatre and vocal performance. Her contributions to LCU include spearheading the development of the Hinds Music Center and Gullo Rehearsal Hall, as well as creating the Music and Worship Ministry degree program. She remains active in performance, appearing as a vocalist and actor when possible.
Her awards include recognitions from the American College Theatre Festival and the Christian University Theatre Festival. Beyond teaching, she has led administrative initiatives to expand facilities and academic programs in the arts.
