معرفی
Laurie D. De Leve, MD, PhD, is a Professor of Medicine and Vice Chair for Scientific Affairs at the Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California. Her expertise spans gastroenterology, hepatology, and drug-induced liver injury. She holds a PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Toronto and a medical degree from Erasmus University Rotterdam. After completing residency at the University of Michigan and a fellowship at UCLA, she joined Keck School of Medicine as an Assistant Professor in 1990, advancing to her current rank.
Dr. De Leve's research focuses on liver sinusoidal endothelial cells, their role in liver injury recovery, fibrosis, and drug toxicity. Her clinical interests include colon cancer screening, irritable bowel syndrome, and managing drug-induced liver damage. Notable honors include the USC Mellon Mentoring Award (2015), Western Society for Clinical Investigation Outstanding Investigator Award (2008), and Alpha Omega Alpha Teaching Award (2005).
Her publications (n=150+) highlight advancements in hepatic vascular biology, including mechanisms of sinusoidal obstruction syndrome, matrix metalloproteinase inhibition for ischemia-reperfusion injury, and progenitor cell-based therapies for liver regeneration. Recent work emphasizes translational applications of sinusoidal endothelial cell biology to clinical hepatology.
Dr. De Leve actively contributes to academic medicine through leadership roles, mentoring future clinicians, and advancing interdisciplinary research collaborations in liver disease pathophysiology and treatment strategies.
