Laurent Plantier

Laurent Plantier is a University Hospital Lecturer in the Department of Physiology UMR INSERM U1100 - Center for the Study of Respiratory Pathologies at the University of Tours. His academic role focuses on respiratory pathology research, particularly pulmonary fibrosis and molecular mechanisms in lung diseases. Plantier holds a medical thesis (2004) from Paris 5 University, defending a study on Hepatocyte Growth Factor and Keratinocyte Growth Factor secretion in human emphysematous lung fibroblasts. He acted as rapporteur for the 2019 doctoral thesis of Pierre-Marie Boutanquoi, which explored TRIM33 and HSPB5 inhibition in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. His research interests span cellular and molecular aspects of respiratory diseases, including growth factors and fibrosis mechanisms.
