Laurence Kenney is a Professor at the University of Salford, leading the Rehabilitation Technologies and Biomedical Engineering research group within the School of Health & Society. He specializes in prosthetics, rehabilitation technologies, and low-resource healthcare solutions. His work focuses on improving prosthetic design, accessibility, and clinical evaluation, particularly in LMICs like Uganda. Kenney has secured grants from EPSRC, NIHR, EU, and charitable organizations, publishing ~80 papers. He co-leads the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Prosthetics and Orthotics and is an EPSRC TIDAL Network co-investigator. His research includes adjustable prosthetic sockets, upper limb prosthetics, and improving FES for stroke rehabilitation.
