Lauren Sulz, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Education's Secondary Education Department and serves as Associate Dean in the Deans Office at the University of Alberta. She specializes in healthy school communities, physical/health education, and school sport. Her research focuses on promoting physical activity, health literacy, and whole-child education through curriculum changes and policy interventions.
Education: PhD in Education (University of Victoria), MSc (University of Saskatchewan), dual BSc and BEd in Kinesiology/Education (University of Saskatchewan).
Research Interests:
- Physical and health education curriculum design
- School-based strategies for physical activity promotion
- Inclusive school sport programming
- Teacher-coach support systems
- Comprehensive school health frameworks
Grants & Collaborations: Principal Investigator on a SSHRC Partnership Grant to develop a Pan-Canadian Health Education Strategy. Collaborates with organizations like Physical and Health Education Canada (PHE Canada) and Ever Active Schools.
