Lauren Lamb serves as a Staff Lecturer in the Professional and Graduate Education (PaGE) division at Mount Holyoke College while simultaneously teaching grades 7 and 8 mathematics at Saint Patrick’s Episcopal Day School in Washington, DC. She also functions as a facilitator for Illustrative Mathematics, contributing to national mathematics education initiatives.
Her educational background includes:
- Master of Arts in Mathematics Teaching (M.A.M.T.) from Mount Holyoke College (2016)
- Master of Education (M.Ed.) from Lesley University through Shady Hill School’s Teacher Training Course partnership
- Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from Emory University
Lamb's professional focus centers on K-12 mathematics education with particular emphasis on algebra pedagogy and curriculum design. Her teaching philosophy is deeply shaped by over a decade of classroom experience and formative work with the Algebra Project during her academic years, where she served as both a Math Literacy Worker and Co-Director of the Math Institute. This foundation drives her commitment to equitable mathematics access and literacy development.
With 12 years teaching sixth grade mathematics at Sidwell Friends School prior to her current position at Saint Patrick’s, Lamb brings extensive practical expertise to her dual roles in K-12 education and graduate-level instruction. Her facilitation work with Illustrative Mathematics extends her influence to curriculum implementation and teacher professional development across broader educational contexts.
