Lauren Fine

Lauren Fine is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Duke University School of Law and the inaugural Supervising Attorney of its Criminal Defense Clinic. She joined the Duke Law faculty in July 2023, bringing expertise in youth justice reform and legal advocacy.

Fine’s research and practice focus on:

• Youth justice reform initiatives
• Ending juvenile life without parole sentences
• Advocacy for juvenile sentencing and reentry
• Limiting collateral consequences of juvenile adjudications

Her work bridges legal theory and practice, emphasizing social justice and public interest law through clinical education and community partnerships.

Fine previously co-founded the Youth Sentencing & Reentry Project (YSRP) in Philadelphia and served on the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Criminal Justice Section as past Co-Chair. She currently advises YSRP and sits on the board of Rock to the Future, a youth music program organization.
