Lauren Ellman is a Professor in the Clinical area of the Psychology and Neuroscience Department at Temple University's College of Liberal Arts. Her research focuses on pre- and perinatal influences on neurodevelopment and risk for major mental disorders like schizophrenia and depression, integrating gene-environment interactions, psychoneuroimmunology, and multimodal imaging.

Her ongoing studies include NIMH-funded projects examining prenatal stress, inflammation, and hypoxia effects on neurodevelopmental trajectories, collaborations with U.S. and Finnish birth cohorts, and tools for early psychosis risk detection.
