Dr. Monica Calkins is a Professor of Psychology in Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine, affiliated with the Department of Psychiatry. She holds leadership roles as Co-Director of the Pennsylvania Early Intervention Center/HeadsUp and Director of Clinical Research Assessment in the Neurodevelopment and Psychosis Section. Her research focuses on early psychosis identification, clinical high-risk populations, and biobehavioral measures of psychopathology. Dr. Calkins has over 200 peer-reviewed publications and has received awards from the International Congress on Schizophrenia Research and NIMH. She mentors students across multiple levels and oversees clinical training programs like the Penn Psychosis Evaluation and Recovery Center (PERC). Her work spans global collaborations, grant review panels, and institutional ethics boards, emphasizing translational neuroscience and clinical practice integration.
