Laura Šarova serves as Lecturer in the Department of Early Music at Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, specializing in baroque violin performance and historical interpretation. She actively performs across Europe as concertmaster for ensembles including Futuro, JVLMA Baroque Orchestra, and Collegium Musicum Riga, while directing the Neymann Ensemble.
Her academic foundation includes:
- Bachelor's degree (2017) in baroque violin from JVLMA Department of Early Music under Assoc. Prof. Agnese Kanniņa
- Master's degree (2019) from same institution
- Advanced studies at Stockholm Royal College of Music with Ann Wallström
- Training at Vienna University of Music and Arts with Ulrike Engel
Šarova's expertise spans historical performance practice through masterclasses with Susanne Scholz, Leila Schayegh, and other early music specialists. Her career integrates performance with cultural production, having organized major festivals including "Vivat Curlandia!" and Riga Historical Music and Dance Festival.
Notable recognition includes:
- Riga Blackhead Brotherhood Chamber Music Competition 2nd place (2019)
From 2016-2023, she produced concerts for Riga Early Music Center and served as jury member for the "Creative Europe" EEEMERGING residency project. Her international performances span the Baltic States, Germany (Cologne Philharmonic with Erik Bosgraaf), France, Austria, and Russia.
