Laura Wray-Lake is a Professor at the Luskin School of Public Affairs at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), specializing in Social Welfare. Her research focuses on youth civic engagement, emphasizing adolescents' and young adults' roles as agents of societal change across local, national, and global contexts.

Grounded in developmental psychology, her work examines how civic engagement evolves over time, influenced by culture, historical context, and social identity. She leads projects on youth activism and ageism, collaborating with organizations like the ACLU, and advocates for lowering the voting age through her involvement in the Vote16 Research Network.
