Laura Turner

Laura Turner, Ph.D., BCBA-D, is an Associate Professor of Applied Behavioral Studies at the University of Saint Joseph (USJ), where she has been since 2014. She holds degrees from Binghamton University-SUNY (Ph.D., M.S. in Clinical Psychology) and the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee (B.A. in Psychology). Her research focuses on applied behavioral analysis, autism spectrum disorders, behavioral skills training, and clinical psychology. Turner is particularly interested in translational research, supervision practices in behavior analysis, and interventions for children with autism.

Her work emphasizes practical applications, such as scaling up behavioral training programs and evaluating the efficacy of interventions. She has also explored topics like parental modeling effects on fear in children with autism and integrating therapeutic approaches for relationship distress. Turner’s contributions span peer-reviewed articles in journals like Behavior Analysis: Research and Practice and collaborations on antibiotic research, showcasing her interdisciplinary approach.
