Dr. Laura Taylor is a Professor and Chair of the School of Economics at Georgia Tech's Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts, and Interim Director of the Energy Policy and Innovation Center. Her research focuses on energy-environmental health linkages, policy evaluation, and natural resource valuation. She has held advisory roles and directed policy centers at institutions like NCSU. Her work addresses offshore wind energy impacts, air pollution health risks, water conservation policies, and hazardous waste cleanup benefits.
Education: PhD from North Carolina State University, MA from Duke University, BS from University of North Carolina at Asheville.
Research emphasizes clean energy economics, environmental policy design, and market-based solutions. Over 50 publications span energy transitions, pollution mitigation, and valuation methodologies. Recent studies include causal inference for air quality impacts and solar farm land value effects.
