Professor Laura Schneider is a faculty member in the Department of Political Science at Grand Valley State University (GVSU), joining in Fall 2008. She holds a Ph.D. in Political Science (2008) and an M.A. in Political Science (2004) from Purdue University, and a B.A. in Government (2002) from Skidmore College.
Research interests include public policy with a focus on environmental policy, gender wage gap, and pedagogical innovation. Her work bridges deliberative democracy with natural resource management, gender equity, and teaching strategies.
Conference presentations span environmental policy (e.g., healthy forests, non-charismatic species conservation), gender equity (e.g., gender wage gap), and pedagogy (e.g., oral examinations, teaching confidence). Key collaborations include Melissa J. Buehler and Leigh S. Raymond.
