Laura Pigozzi is an Associate Professor of Instruction in the Cook Family Writing Program at Northwestern University. She also holds Affiliate Faculty status at the Center for Community Health Equity (DePaul University/Rush University).
- PhD in Rhetoric and Scientific & Technical Communication with a minor in Bioethics (University of Minnesota)
- BS in Mechanical Engineering with a Bioengineering Option (University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana)
Her research bridges the rhetoric of health and medicine, technical communication, intercultural communication, and immigrant health. A focus on the Latinx immigrant community explores how communication practices address health disparities and promote social justice through interdisciplinary theories.
Literature trends show consistent engagement with multilingualism, empathy in design, and cultural competency frameworks. Publications span ethics in technical communication, healthcare narratives, and transnational research methodologies.
