Dr. Laura Offrey is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at MacEwan University. She holds a PhD from the University of Alberta and maintains a private practice focusing on marginalized populations, particularly the 2SLGBTQ+ community. Her research examines intersectionality, resiliency, allyship, and inclusive education for sexual and gender minorities through the Sexual and Gender Diversity (SGD) Lab.
Education: PhD in Psychology (University of Alberta). Teaching focuses on clinical psychology, abnormal psychology, and special topics in 2SLGBTQ+ mental health. She actively supervises honours and independent study students, prioritizing support for historically marginalized communities.
Research interests include protective/risk factors for 2SLGBTQ+ mental health, educator practices in inclusive education, and intersectional resilience. Collaborative projects explore victimization and intimate partner violence.
