Dr. Laura Mullins is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Disability Studies at Brock University. She holds a Ph.D. in Human Development from the University of Guelph and an M.A. in Applied Disability Studies from Brock University.

Dr. Mullins' research focuses on transformative, participatory action research with disabled people and community-engaged scholarship. Her work addresses individual, organizational, and systemic barriers affecting the quality of life of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, with a strong emphasis on accessibility in post-secondary education and trauma-informed approaches.
Her recent publications explore community capacity-building for supporting challenging behaviors, pandemic impacts on disabled students, invisible disabilities in higher education, and healthcare process improvements. She supervises M.A. students in projects related to mental well-being of disabled students, trigger warnings for autistic students, and employment strategies for adults with disabilities.
