Dr. Laura Mair is a Lecturer in History at the University of Aberdeen specializing in modern Scottish history, particularly childhood, disability, and poverty. Her work explores marginalized voices through microhistorical approaches.
Education includes a Ph.D. in Ecclesiastical History from University of Edinburgh (2017). Current research examines Protestant institutions for disabled children and religious influences on education.
Publications include 'Religion and Relationships in Ragged Schools' (2019) and the edited volume 'Social Christianity in Scotland and Beyond' (2024). Awards include Hope Trust Postdoctoral Fellowship and Scottish Church History Society Essay Prize.
