Laura Lindsey is an Associate Professor of Finance and Chair of the Department of Finance at Arizona State University's W. P. Carey School of Business. She holds the Cutler Family Endowed Professorship. Her research focuses on entrepreneurial finance, venture capital, private equity, and corporate governance. Lindsey joined ASU in 2003 and is affiliated with the Center for Real Estate and Finance. She has taught courses such as Entrepreneurial Finance and Special Topics in Finance across multiple semesters.
Education: Ph.D. (2004), M.A. (1999), and B.A. (1993) in Finance from Stanford University.
Research Interests: Her current projects explore angel investor dynamics, hedge funds in venture capital, and the impact of investor accreditation rules on employment. She has published extensively in top journals like the Journal of Finance and Journal of Financial Economics.
Awards: Recipient of the Dean's Excellence Award (2017), Barrett Honors College Honors, and the Beyster Fellow designation (2011). She has also secured research grants from the W.P. Carey School and Financial Services Exchange.
Grants & Professional Activities: Lindsey serves on program committees for the Western Finance Association, Financial Intermediation Research Society, and European Finance Association. She has contributed as an ad hoc referee for leading finance journals.
Labs/Teams: Active in the Center for Real Estate and Finance, contributing to interdisciplinary research on financial markets and entrepreneurship.
