Laura L. Myers

Laura L. Myers, Ph.D., MSW, is a full-time Professor in the Department of Social Work at Florida A&M University's College of Social Sciences, Arts, and Humanities (CSSAH). With 17 years of experience at FAMU and prior roles at Thomas University and University of Georgia, she specializes in human diversity, research methods, and statistical analysis.

• Ph.D. in Social Work (University of Georgia, 1998)
• MSW in Social Work (University of Georgia, 1992)
• BA in Philosophy and Religion with Humanities minor (University of Southern Mississippi, 1982)

Her research focuses on human diversity across cultural, racial, gender, and personality dimensions, complemented by methodological expertise in research design and statistical analysis. She has authored 5 books, 28 refereed journal articles, and 20 book chapters.

Dr. Myers teaches required BSW courses like Social Work Research Methods and electives on human sexuality and spirituality. She also instructs MSW-level research statistics courses.
