Laura J. Bishop

Dr. Laura J. Bishop is an Associate Teaching Professor and Academic Program Director at Georgetown University's Kennedy Institute of Ethics. She leads curricular and extracurricular initiatives for undergraduates, advises on the Philosophy and Bioethics minor, founded the Undergraduate Bioethics Showcase, collaborates with the Undergraduate Bioethics Society, and develops content for the annual Conversations in Bioethics program. She also administers the Institute's visiting researcher program and identifies collaborative opportunities for bioethics education globally.

Education:
Dr. Bishop earned her PhD in Philosophy (Bioethics concentration) from Georgetown University and holds a Bachelor's degree in Biology with a minor in Science and Human Values from Wells College.

Research Focus:
Her interdisciplinary work spans ethics pedagogy, healthcare policy, and societal engagement with science. Key themes include:
