Laura Ingallinella is an Assistant Professor of Italian Studies at the University of Toronto, cross-appointed to the Renaissance Studies Program and Victoria College. Her research intersects identity politics, literary forgery, and transcultural literacy in premodern Italy, with a focus on manuscript cultures and critical race theory.

Her current projects include monographs on Gender and Literary Forgery in Renaissance Italy and Transcultural Literacy in Merchant Communities. She co-edits an interdisciplinary volume on premodern race with Robert J. Clines.
Recent publications analyze Dantean reception, hagiographic translations, and merchant manuscript networks. Awards include a 2015–16 École Normale Supérieure fellowship and 2022 Oscar Kristeller grant.
