Rahul Deb is a Professor of Economics at the University of Toronto, specializing in Microeconomic Theory, Game Theory, Mathematical Economics, and Industrial Organization. He holds a Ph.D. from Yale University (2010), along with an M.Phil. (2008) and M.A. (2006) from Yale, and a B.Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (2004).
His research focuses on dynamic screening mechanisms, revealed preference analysis, strategic interactions, and applications to markets and institutions. Key contributions include studies on buyer-optimal learning in multi-dimensional screening, indirect persuasion frameworks, and statistical discrimination in labor markets. His work bridges theoretical economics with empirical methods, addressing challenges in contract design, information asymmetry, and market behavior.
Recent publications emphasize robust pricing strategies in cloud computing, certification marketplace dynamics, and the role of reputation in relational contracting.
